Joanna M. Austin, LL.B.,
Joanna is an associate in our corporate department and advises on matters relating to the incorporation, corporate management, compliance, licensing, restructuring, and acquisition of various corporate entities. She focuses on international business companies, societies with restricted liability and captive insurance companies.
Joanna also advises lenders and companies on international secured financing and structuring, international insurance operations in Barbados and related general commercial matters. As well, she advises on work permit and immigration matters.
Joanna joined the firm in 2011, having obtained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago and being admitted to the Bar in Barbados.
Before this, she graduated with an LL.B from the University of Wolverhampton and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 after completing the Bar Vocational Course at the City Law School, London.
Joanna has also completed courses in alternative dispute resolution, loan and security documentation and is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Corporate Secretaries Canada.
